Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered into a displayed search tool is sent to the provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its own results. Ontonagon County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the resource may be retained so a reply can be given. It is kept within the operating organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, routine technical details can be collected by hosting and analytics services, including:
- Page-view timestamps and the referring site, when one is available
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Browser version, device type, and operating system
- The IP address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that may be stored on a device to support site operation and aggregate traffic measurement. Browser controls can block cookies. Some functions may work differently when those controls are used.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used to maintain performance, troubleshoot errors, measure which material is used, route a submitted query to the selected provider, and support advertising delivered by partners.
No Court-Record Data on File
Ontonagon County Court Docket does not host, sell, or compile a database of personal court records. Its material identifies official locations for Ontonagon County case history and record requests, including court clerks, local courts, and MiCOURT Case Search. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside providers operate the search boxes that appear on some pages. Their privacy policies govern data entered in those boxes, including retention and sharing choices. Review the provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court, county, state, or provider websites. Once a visitor leaves this site, that destination's policy controls the visit and any personal details supplied there.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and deliver interest-based advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited data may be shared with the following categories when needed:
- Providers that process a search query selected by the visitor
- Analytics and hosting services used to evaluate traffic or performance
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government bodies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for information collected in operating the site. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure, so no promise can be made that an incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact the operator if a minor may have supplied information so it can be addressed.
Your Data Rights
Questions about personal data held by the operator may be sent by email. Court-file access is a different matter: Michigan court records are governed by MCR 8.119, while the Michigan FOIA judicial-branch exclusion means court-file requests follow the court's own records process. A visitor may ask the operator to:
- Request a copy of personal information held about that visitor
- Ask for correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of information where appropriate
- Ask about choices for certain data processing
